Press release on the meeting to summarize the results of tax revenue collection for December and 2022 and the direction for the implementating of the General Department of Taxation for 2023
On 31 January 2023, the General Department of Taxation (GDT) held a meeting to summarize the results of tax revenue collection for December and 2022 and the direction for implementing the GDT for 2023. According to the online revenue management system of the GDT, tax collection results in December 2022 are 975.46 billion riels (approximately $ 240.85 million), equivalent to 8. 54% of the Law on Financial Management 2022. In the 12 months of 2022, the actual tax revenue was 13,993.20 billion riels (approximately $ 3455.11 Million), equivalent to 122.54% of the Law on Financial Management for the year 2022, compared to tax revenue in the same period in 2021, an increase of 2,702.73 billion riels (approximately $ 667.34 million) equal to 23.96%. In addition to the results of tax revenue collection, there are many other essential work results that the GDT achieved in 2022.
As a follow-up direction for 2023, the GDT is firmly committed and strives to manage the collection of tax revenue 14645, 38 billion riels (approximately $ 3,571.69 million) by the plan of the Law on Financial Management for the year 2023 by continuing to strengthen the implementation of inclusive fiscal measures and policies, including many other necessary measurements.
